Raymond R. Goyette1915-2014Raymond R. Goyette, 98, of Chicopee Falls, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Wingate at South Hadley. Born in Chicopee on April 29, 1915, he was a son of the late Trifley and Jennie (Anes) Goyette. Raymond was a lifetime communicant of the former St. George Church. It was there he married his true love of 59 years, Doris A. Rivest, who passed in 1998. During WWII, Raymond worked at Perkins Gear as a supervisor to "Rosie Riveters" who manufactured aircraft parts. After that he worked at Monsanto for 37 years as a 1st class millwright and volunteer plant fireman. Upon retiring, he took up gardening and wood working to occupy his time. Raymond was an avid sportsman; he loved tennis, fishing, and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed spending weekends and vacation time with family and friends at his summer home on Lake Damon in Chesterfield, MA. Raymond leaves his youngest, most loving son, Gary G. Goyette and his wife Caron (Mulcahy) of West Springfield; and his beautiful granddaughter, Katie Goyette Rychlik, whom he found great joy spending time with. Raymond was also predeceased by his son Robert R. Goyette. His loving spirit and marvelous sense of humor will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4-7pm with a funeral home service at 6:30pm at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. Burial will be private.
