Raymond "Roby" Robichaud, 94, of Chicopee passed peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Care One at Redstone Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Chicopee, born March 31, 1921, he was the son of the late Phillip J. and Cerena (Mary) (Mosher) Robichaud. Raymond graduated from Cathedral High School in 1938 and Bay Path Institute Business School. In his younger years he enjoyed hockey, skating, fishing and skeet shooting. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II in Polebrook, England as a waist gunner/operations with the 351st Bomb Group/510th Squadron. After the war Ray worked as an assembler for Savage Arms Corporation in Chicopee Falls and Westfield for 42 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Lorena (Forant) Robichaud in 2003 . During their years together they enjoyed traveling and spent winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He was a member of the Chicopee Senior Center where he enjoyed his cribbage games with friends. Ray is survived by his four children David Nelson and his wife Mary Jean of Suffield, CT., Nancy Phillips of Springfield, Janet Benard of Chicopee, and Linda Robichaud-Lak and her husband Joseph of Chicopee. Beloved grandfather of ten: David Jr., Eric, Karen, Kevin, Kristin, Rob, Loriann, Jay, Ann Marie and Carol. Loving great grandfather of 14: Matthew, Michael, Scott, Nathan, Jessie, Bobby, Samantha, Lylah, Charley, Olivia, Lukas, Baron, Cameron and Sydney. Roby touched many lives and can be remembered for his great smile. He will be sadly missed and loved always. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.Tylunas Funeral Home413-592-0148
