Richard D. Anischik 1931-2006 CHICOPEE- Richard D. Anischik, 74, a life long Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest on Friday March 24, 2006 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicopee on August 10, 1931, a son of the late Michael and Sophie (Jezouit) Anischik. Richard retired in 1996 from Curtis Universal Joint Company after 10 years of service and had worked prior for 25 years at the American Bosch. He was a U.S. Marines Korean War veteran, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Richard was an Explosive Operator Foreman and obtained the rank of SSGT. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the American Legion Post 275, both in Chicopee. Richard was an avid golfer and gardener, and was an all around athlete in his younger years. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years; Mary S. (Shea) Anischik, three sons; Rick J. of Holland, MA, Ed J. and his wife Jill of Chicopee, and Alan J. and his wife Carolyn of Agawam, a daughter, Maggie "Meg" Anischik of Chicopee, six grandchildren; Eddie, Adam, Madyson, Kody, Max, and Charlie, a sister; Marian Gable of Sterling, VA, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by two brothers; Michael and Joseph Anischik. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 29th beginning at 10:30 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, both in Chicopee, with Rites of Committal to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Richard's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday (this evening) March 28th from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 393 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01105 or Baystate VNA & Hospice, 50 Maple St., P.O.
