Richard E Gushue1942-2015GOD saw you were getting tired as he put his arms around you, he whispered "come with me, there is a place for you in heaven where there is no suffering and no pain"....  Richard E. Gushue , 72, of Chicopee, Mass passed away at Holyoke Medical Center, on Monday, April 6th . Born in Springfield, Massachusetts the first son of Elmer P and Alice (Galloway) Gushue .  Richard lived most of his life in the area he was born and that most of his family lived.  He proudly served his country by enlisting in the Navy serving on the USS Compton DD-705.Richard had a few careers in his life but he enjoyed most the time spent breeding and selling Bichon Frise dogs.  He had many fond memories and friends who he helped become pet parents.  He was an avid animal lover having many German Shepherds, Bichons and Samoyed during his life. . Richard especially liked playing video games with his grandchildren and was a wiz at his IPhone, sometimes even teaching his grandchildren and children short cuts and tips. Richard is survived by his loving wife Judith, whom he married on Valentine's Day 1981; his children, Sandy & her husband Sean, Barbara, son Richard & his wife Michelle:  his grandchildren Cecil, Nicole, Aiyana, Megan & Mitchell whom he adored:  his brother in law Ray: sister in law Paula:  and his nieces & nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Jean, his brother John and stepson Scott. The family would like to send a special thanks to Kevin LeBlanc, Bob LeBlanc and Barbara Szabian for being there for Richard when they couldn't be. "You did not go alone, dear Grampa ... for a part of us went with you." A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday April 16, 2015 from 5-7pm at Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway Chicopee MA.
