Rita I. Anderson

Rita Irene Anderson  1927 ~ 2008   Chicopee- Rita Irene (Desilets) Anderson, 81, a life long Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest on Thursday June 19, 2008 at home. Rita was born in Chicopee on February 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Henry and Dora (Morin) Desilets. She was employed until her retirement, at several women's clothing stores including Forbes and Wallace, Filenes, and Balakiers Dress Shop. Rita was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee. She enjoyed her family and friends and entertaining them at the summer home in Maine, walks by the ocean, Maine lobster, and traveling throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Islands. Rita is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Robert William Anderson; two loving children, Robert Paul Anderson of Chicopee, and Barbara Rita Anderson Rock and her husband David George Rock of Springfield; 2 cherished grandchildren, Gregory Anderson Rock of Chicopee, and Jessie Anderson Wickham of Waterboro, ME; a adored great-grandson, Ethan David Wickham of Waterboro, ME; and a brother, Larry Desilets of Chesapeake, VA. She was predeceased by a brother, Armand Desilets, and a sister, Doris Anderson. Rita's family would like to extend a heart warm thank you to the staff at Baystate VNA & Hospice for their compassionate care they gave to Rita. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee. Burial will be private. Rita's family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service from 9-10a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rita's memory to Baystate VNA & Hospice, 50 Maple St., P.O.
