Rita Houle

RITA M. HOULE 1916 - 2007   CHICOPEE- Rita M. Houle, 90, a lifelong resident here was called safely home on Monday April 9, 2007 at Heritage Hall in Agawam. Rita was born in Chicopee on September 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Dominic and Alexina Aucoin Houle. She was educated in Chicopee Schools and was primarily a caregiver for over 20 years with The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation. Rita had provided her services to those in the area even after her retirement, volunteering to provide transportation for the elderly in her later years. Rita was a communicant of St. George Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her sisters Ida Beaudry and Alice Hebert. Rita leaves several loving nieces and nephews, especially her nephew with whom she resided, Bob Beaudry. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heritage Hall West for their kindness, care and support. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in St. George Church, 7 Belcher St., followed by a burial in Calvary Cemetery all in Chicopee. A visiting hour will be held Saturday morning from 9:30AM until 10:30 AM at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rita's name may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 306 Industrial Park Rd., Suite 105, Middletown, CT 06457 or a charity of one's choice.
