Rita V Moran

Rita V. Moran 1914-2003 Chicopee Falls- Rita V. (Danahey) Moran, 88 of 23 Southwick St. Chicopee Falls, died Monday at a local nursing home. Born in Springfield she has lived most of her life in Chicopee. She was a dorm director for Davis Hall at Westfield State College from 1964 until her retirement in 1981. Upon her retirement she received an honorary degree from Westfield State College. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1933 and was an avid bridge player. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Chicopee. Rita was the wife of the late William J. Moran who died in 1962. She leaves three sons David W. of Nahant, Ma, Paul K. of Charlston West Virginia and Peter K. Moran of Mashpee, Ma. and a daughter Noreen C. Moran of Warwick, RI. She also leaves a sister Clare Shea of Ft. Worth, TX and six grandchildren, Jodi Carlino, Carrie Walsh, Courtney O'Neil, Meredith, William and Elizabeth Moran and four great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 9AM from the Tylunas Funeral Home of Chicopee with a 10 AM mass in St. Patrick's Church and burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Westfield. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Contributions to the Sisters of St. Joseph Retirement Fund, Mt. Marie 34 Lower Westfield Rd, Holyoke, Ma.
