Robert D. Dame, 74, of Thaddeus St. passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 12, 2020 surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Springfield ON October 6, 1946, a son of the late Robert & Susan (Mickna) Dame. He was raised and educated in Springfield and attended local schools. Bob was a forty one year employee of the United States Postal Service, retiring as a Clerk. A longtime Chicopee resident, Bob was a devoted communicant of the former St. Patrick's Church and also a communicant of St. Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. He was a well-known Bowler in the Valley, often a familiar face on local televised bowling matches and participated in numerous Pro-Am's in Massachusetts and Connecticut throughout the years. Bob was a member of the American Bowling Congress (ABC Bowler). He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the Casino and was an avid golfer, scoring two Hole-in-One's in his career. He leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Dianne (Munson) Dame. His cherished sons; Michael and his wife Pamela and Jamie and his wife Lisa. Six cherished grandchildren; Isabel, Brooke, Peyton, Max, Gracie and Carter. He also leaves his dear sister; Arlene Fournier and her husband Norman of Florida and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Edward. There are no calling hours. A private interment with the Catholic Rites of Committal will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chicopee. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to Baystate Hospice, 30 Capital Drive, West Springfield, MA. 01089.
