Rodger L. Pelchat

Rodger L. Pelchat1935-2015Chicopee- Rodger L. Pelchat, 80, of Chicopee, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Solder's Home of Holyoke. Born in Farmington, ME on April 15, 1935 he was a son of the late Louis A. and Gertrude (Moore) Pelchat. Rodger served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and worked as a supervisor for Hamilton Standard in CT for 33 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1849 in Chicopee. Rodger loved motorcycles and was the president of New England Riders. Rodger also enjoyed racing pigeons with his son, Mark. He was predeceased by his wife of 18 years, Hedy V. (Domaszewicz) Pelchat, who passed on October 22, 1977. Rodger leaves his daughter, Debbie Dextradeur and her husband Bill of Chicopee; two sons, Mark Pelchat and his wife Lani of Saint Augustine, FL and Tom Pelchat and his wife Mia of Longmeadow; his brother Raymond Pelchat of Chicopee; four grandsons, William Dextradeur and his wife Sabina of Chicopee, Mark Pelchat, Jr. of Miami, FL, Mason Pelchat of Longmeadow, and David Dextradeur of Chicopee; granddaughter, Nicoletta Pelchat of Longmeadow; two cousins, Donald Kilbreth of Turner, ME and Stanley Kilbreth of Nashua, NH; two sisters-in-law, Anna Ostrowski of Holyoke and Jane Domaszewicz of South Hadley; and his longtime friend, Helen Ouimet of South Hadley. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 9:45am in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, 49 Olsen St, Chicopee.
