Roger Henry Bourguignon

Roger H. Bourguignon, 89, Chicopee native son, died peacefully 8 April 2017, 9 weeks shy of his 90th birthday. A WWII Veteran, Roger served on US MM "Linfield Victory" (1945-46). Can-fix-anything young Roger enjoyed the company of his growing extended family; he loved pranks, model airplanes, and auto engine repair. Employed locally, he worked at Westinghouse, later at HAPCO; then he taught for 26 years at Chicopee Comp Trade. After retiring, the elder transitioned to a cigar-smoking grandpa who loved landscaping his garden. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Malvina (Brodeur) and Henry, his brother Joseph, and his son John Joseph. He leaves 4 children, Michelle, and spouse Bruce Raybeck, Jo-Ann, Joseph, and William and spouse Megan (Sellers); 5 beloved grandchildren, James, Josclyn, Skylar Grace, John Jr., and William Jr.. Roger was the oldest brother to Claire (m. Jochim), and twins Rita (m. Waller) and Richard "Rip", and spouse Jeanne (Wyzga); and a devoted ex-wife Marie. Our family deeply appreciates the attentive and compassionate staff at ICU Baystate, CareOne in E.Longmeadow, and the Holyoke Soldier's Home Hospice Unit. Visitation will be on Thurs, 20 April, from 4-7:30 PM at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway Street, Chicopee, MA, followed by funeral home service with military honors at 7:30 PM.
