- Roger Anthony Charron, 57, a lifelong Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Bay state Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on November 19, 1958, a son of Evelyn A. (Gordon) Charron of Chicopee and the late Leo D. Charron. Rodger graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1976. He was a member of the Tiger AC for many years. Roger was a veteran with the US Army and received an honorable discharge for his service from 1980 -1982. During his time in the service Roger received a commendation for his Marksmanship and was also a cook. Upon being discharge he went to work as a cook. He loved to play sports and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys. Roger had many passions in life like camping and fishing but his greatest passion was being around his family. He is survived by his mother Evelyn Charron; sister in law; Diane Charron and a good friend George Breault. Roger was predeceased by his dad Leo Charron and his brother Gerald Charron. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, August 9th at 10 a.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee and burial to follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Visitation will precede the services on Tuesday from 8 -10 a.m. in the funeral home.
