Roger R. Lemelin 1935 - 2005 CHICOPEE - Roger R. Lemelin, 70, entered into eternal rest after a brave battle with lung cancer on 11-22-2055 at Loomis Nursing Center surrounded by his family. Born in Chicopee on 11-17-1935 to the late Arthur & Laura (Rouillard) Lemelin. He attended Chicopee schools and served 14½ years in the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Lowry, USS Grand Canyon, and USS Glover, attaining the rank of BT2. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Cuba) and the Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba). Roger is survived by his two sisters and their husbands, Lillian Bigda and her husband Ted, and Claire Cucchi and her husband Eric, and his companion of many years Dorothy Manderville, all of Chicopee; several nieces and nephews. Three siblings predeceased him, his sister Lucille Picher and two brothers, Robert and Normand. The family will receive visitors at Tylunas Funeral Home, Saturday, November 26, 2005 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church at 10:00 a.m. and burial at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.
