Roland Robert Bonafilia

CHICOPEE- Roland R. Bonafilia, 64, of Chicopee or "Bones" as his family and friends called him passed away on Monday February 12, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center after a brief illness. Roland was born in Holyoke on August 24, 1953 the son of Connie Bonafilia of Chicopee and the late Robert Bonafilia.  He was a lifelong Chicopee resident, attending local schools and graduated from Chicopee High School. Roland worked as a Machinist for 34 years for United Technologies formally Hamilton Standard before retiring.  Bones enjoyed sports, especially playing Pool and loved watching football and baseball games. He leaves his loving wife, Claudia (Persson) Bonafilia. His beloved mother, Constance (Dostie) Bonafilia. His sons; Matthew, Brian, Daniel and Andrew Bonafilia and a grandson, Dylan. He also leaves his dear sisters; Carol Rozanski, Terry Warner and Barbara Bonafilia and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. The family invites you to join them on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Mary Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Blvd., Springfield to Celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial for Roland. (Please arrive promptly at Church by 10:45 a.m.) Interment of Roland's ashes will immediately follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, South Hadley. Cemetery is located off of Rt. 33, memorial Drive, Willimansett St. So. Hadley. The family has entrusted Roland's care and services with Tylunas Funeral Home, Broadway St., Chicopee.
