Roland A. LeMay1928 - 2015 CHICOPEE - Roland Alcide LeMay, 86, peacefully passed into eternity on July 30, 2015. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Ludger and Grace (Dauphinais) LeMay, his beloved sister, Thelma LeMay and his dearly cherished wife of 61 years, Lucille (Aubrey) LeMay. He leaves behind his dearly beloved children: daughter, Christine LeMay-Kenyon and husband, Robert Kenyon II of Springfield, Susan LeMay of Chicopee, son, Charles LeMay and wife, Debi of Chicopee, son, Thomas LeMay and wife, Marianne of Springfield and son Roland LeMay and Fiancé, Darleen Dubiel of West Springfield, he was also predeceased by his dearly beloved daughter, Mary Lou LeMay and his loving daughter-in-law, Karen (Pecoy) LeMay of Chicopee. He also leaves behind dearly loved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: brother-in-law, Roger Aubrey and wife, Jeanette of PA, brother-in-law, Donald Aubrey of Chicopee, brother-in-law, Robert Aubrey of FL and sister-in-law, Sr. Ruth Aubrey, ASCJ of PA. Additionally, he will be greatly missed by his 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companion (a Sheltie Sheepdog) named Sunshine. Roland dearly loved and cherished time spent with family and friends. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 63 for more than 50 years, working most of his career for Hammill-McCormick Associates, he was a Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 300 in Chicopee Falls, a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 132 in Chicopee Center, a member of American Legion Post 452, a Eucharistic Minister for St. George Church, an avid camper and a member of Pioneer Valley Chapter 8. He loved playing cribbage and was the player everyone wanted to beat. Roland was a graduate of Alvord School, attended Chicopee High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 years of age, working as a crane operator, during WWII. He served his Sheet Metal apprenticeship under John Kleeberg at Savage Arms Corp, in Chicopee and was a licensed Master Sheet Metal Mechanic. Mostly we'll miss his warm smile, selfless giving, and his constant reminders, "Keep your eye on the Big Guy in the sky" and "Don't sweat the small stuff." Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Olsen St., all in Chicopee. Roland's family will receive relatives and friends at the visitation on Sunday, August 2nd from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
