Rose D. Slattery 1927-2010 CHICOPEE- Rose D. (Labonte) Slattery, 82, a long time Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 1, 2010 in Country Estates in Agawam. She was born in Holyoke on October 16, 1927 a daughter of the late Dieudonne and Josephine (Geoffroy) Labonte. She was employed for 20 years at United Paper Box in Holyoke as a box maker. Rose was a communicant of St. Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She volunteered for 15 years for Sunshine Village Bingo and for six years for St Rose de Lima Bingo. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Slattery in 1992; a daughter, Sheila Cote; two sisters, Alice Doiron and Eva Roy; and five brothers, Louis, Aime, Ronald, Laurent, and Richard Labonte. She is survived by her three sons, Fred Slattery Jr. of Springfield, Robert Slattery and his wife Donna of Chicopee, and Joseph Slattery and his wife Pat of West Springfield; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 5th beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., with Rites of Committal and burial to follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Olsen St., all in Chicopee. Rose's family will receive relatives and friends at the visiting hours on Wednesday, August 4th from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
