Russell David Rivest

Russell David Rivest, lifelong resident of Chicopee, MA, age 71, passed away August 1, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center after a long illness. Born November 25,1952, in Holyoke, MA, Russ was a son of the late Rene and Laura (Musante) Rivest. He was a graduate of Chicopee Comp High School and made a career as a pressman in printmaking. He worked at various printing companies, including Old Windsor Press, BI Marketing, and most recently at Schermerhorn's Box Company. In his leisure, Russ enjoyed golf and fishing and loved to play cards with friends.

Russ is predeceased by his parents, his son David Rivest, his brothers Rene and Richard Rivest, his brother-in-law Richard Maher, and by Oreo, his Shih Tzu who he affectionately called “Bubba” and watched sports with. He is survived by his wife Lori (Dunn) Rivest, his son Stephen Rivest of Pennsylvania, his step-son Robert Roy of Pittsfield, his step-daughter Jessica Arias of Springfield, his brother Robert Rivest and his wife Terry of Florida, his brother Bruce Rivest and his wife Joanne of Belchertown, his sister Barbara Maher of Chicopee, his sisters-in-law Diane of South Hadley and Pam of North Carolina, his granddaughter Alyssa Rivest, and his step-grandsons Robert Roy IV, Micah Arias, Isaac Arias, and Jacob Arias.

Calling hours and viewing will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Tylunas Funeral Home at 159 Broadway Street, Chicopee, MA, with a graveside service to follow at Forestdale Cemetery at 304 Cabot Street, Holyoke, MA.
