Sandra A. Gauthier

Sandra A. (Mercier) Gauthier, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Sandra was born in Holyoke on January 23, 1939, the daughter of Charles and Henrietta (Klaus) Mercier. She was a life-long resident of Chicopee and attended local schools. Sandra had a long career in the banking industry working in Human Resources. She began her career at Chicopee Bank and Trust, moving on to Bank of Boston and finally retiring from Bank of America. Sandra was an avid reader and loved playing cards and traveling. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family. A loyal friend, Sandra always looked forward to gatherings with “Club”, a close group of friends that have continued to meet monthly since high school. Sandra was sadly predeceased by her parents and her husband Richard, who passed away in 2001, and her sister Judy McCraw. She is survived by her son Daniel and his wife Ann of Northbridge, MA, her daughters Gail Catjakis and her husband Charles of Agawam, and Sharon Duval of Chicopee, her sister Nancy Donofrio of Vermont, grandchildren Jennifer and husband Evan, Stephanie, Alyssa and husband Brian, Nicholas and wife Renee, Matthew and fiancé Mallory, Heather, Michael and fiancé Becky, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. CALLING HOURS FOR SANDRA WILL BE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2024 FROM 8:45 TO 10:45 A.M. AT TYLUNAS FUNERAL HOME, 159 BROADWAY ST., CHICOPEE, FOLLOWED BY A LITURGY OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL AT 11:00 A.M. AT MARY MOTHER OF HOPE CHURCH, 840 PAGE BLVD., SPFLD. Burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Olson St., Chicopee.
