Shanna Rose Brosseau

January 15, 1979 — February 18, 2022

Shanna Brosseau passed away on the morning of February 18, 2022 at the age of 43, but anyone who knows her can tell you that is not the end of her story.

Shanna was born and lived in Springfield before moving to Chicopee, Massachusetts. Every place that she went - from Chicopee Comprehensive High School where she graduated to TD Bank where she worked - she gathered friends whose lives were changed for the better by knowing her. The very definition of a creative soul, Shanna spun words into short stories, online fiction, storytelling games, a children's book, and a novel. An unabashed geek, she shared that love of her fandoms with her friends and family.

Her strength of will and determination motivated her to push past the difficulties that life threw her way on a regular basis. From fighting off cancer multiple times, to getting her degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2019, Shanna regularly refused to let the Universe dictate her path. She advocated for herself and others, helped people speak up for themselves, and didn't back down from what she knew was right. She inspired others on a regular basis and put her heart into everything she did.

Shanna leaves behind a great many people to carry on her legacy of wit and wonder: her mother Diane Brosseau of Chicopee, her beloved cousins and aunts, and lifelong friends who were the family that she chose. She is predeceased by her brother Jason, who she knew walked beside her in the years since his passing, and who she expected to be there to greet her when it was her own time.

Services for Shanna will be held on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2022 AT 11:00 A.M. AT NOTRE DAME CEMETERY, 63 LYMAN ST., SO. HADLEY. Family and Friends may gather directly at the Cemetery. There will be a gathering for friends and family afterward at                     The Crossing at Ridgewood Village, 124 Outer Drive, Chicopee 01022

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shanna's name to TJ O'Connor Adoption Center in Springfield, MA. or to an animal adoption center of your choosing.
