Stanley J. Stec

Stanley J. Stec 1922 ~ 2007   Chicopee- Stanley J. Stec, 85, of Chicopee, passed away on Tuesday October 16, 2007 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born on August 28, 1922 in Chicopee and was the son of the late Joseph and Magdalena (Rzeznikiewicz) Stec. Stanley was the husband of Adrienne (Lavoie) Stec who passed away on October 16, 2001. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1938-1940. Stanley was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country earning the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Campaign Ribbon with a Bronze Battle Star, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Following WWII, Stanley was employed at the former American Bosch as an assembler. He was a communicant of St. George Church in Chicopee. Stanley was a member of the Polish American Veterans, Andrew Balnut Post in Chicopee. An avid sportsman, Stanley loved fishing and hunting. Stanley is survived by his daughter, Dale M. Stec of Chicopee; a son, Paul S. Stec and his wife Jacqueline also of Chicopee; a grandson, Brian P. Stec and his wife Alyssa of Miamisburg, Ohio; a great grandson, Bradan R. Stec; a sister Anna M. Gibbings of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 19th beginning at 9 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, 7 Belcher St., with Rites of Committal and burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery St., all in Chicopee. A visiting hour will precede the services on Friday from 8a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
