Theodore J. Christofori 1942 - 2003 Theodore (Ted) J. Christofori 60, of Chicopee died Sunday March 30, at his residence. Ted was a messenger for 23 years at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. Born in Springfield on December 3, 1942, the son of the late John M. and Sophie S. (Bogdanski) Christofori. He resided in Springfield for 36 years and in Chicopee for the past 24 years and was a communicant of St. Michael"s Cathedral, Springfield. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army attaining the rank of Specialist Grade 5. He received the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Metal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 dvc, the National Defense Service medal, 2 Overseas Bars, his marksman?s badge for the M-14 rifle, and good conduct medal. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and the Knights of Columbus Elder Council 69 of Chicopee. He was predeceased by his mother Sophie S. Christofori who died March 12, 2001, his father John M. Christofori, and a sister Merle Cavanaugh. He is survived by 3 brothers: Earl Walz of Springfield, MA John Walz of Santa Monica, CA George Christofori and his wife Gloria Christofori of Springfield. 2 aunts: Stella Onofrio of Bloomfield, CT Joanne Bogdanski of Easthampton, MA An uncle: Robert Bogdanski of Easthampton, MA The funeral will be Thursday morning 8:45 A.M. at Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway Chicopee followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in the Holy Spirt Chapel at St. Michael?s Cathedral, Springfield. Burial in St. Michael?s Cemetery, Springfield. Visiting hours are Wednesday 3 to 7 P.M.
