Theodore V. LaBonte 1918-2010 WEST JEFFERSON, NC- Theodore "Ted" V. LaBonte, 91, of West Jefferson, NC and a former life long resident of Chicopee, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 21, 2010. Ted was born in Chicopee on December 10, 1918 a son of the late George and Victoria (LaRiviere) LaBonte. He attended Chicopee schools, and was the former owner, with his wife Estelle, of Cady St. Café in Ludlow for 18 years. Ted was a WWII U.S. Army veteran obtaining the rank of private first class. He was a communicant of the former St. Patrick's Church, Chicopee. Ted was a member of the Elks Lodge 1849, American Legion Post 337, Aldenville, and the American Veterans #12. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Estelle E. (Langevin) LaBonte in 1998; a daughter, Joan A. LaBonte in 1997; and a brother, Edward LaBonte. Ted is survived by his son, Richard "Rick" T. LaBonte and his wife Diane of West Jefferson, NC; four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Todd LaBonte and Christopher and Kimberly Chaffee; and seven great-grandchildren. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 13th at 11 a.m. in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St. Rites of Committal and burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Olsen St., both in Chicopee. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ted's memory to a charity of one's choice.
