Thomas Alexander Maroney (1942 - 2004) Ludlow- Thomas Alexander Maroney, 62, beloved husband of the late Helen (Turgeon) Maroney, died December 31, 2004, quietly at his home. Born in the "Falls" section of Chicopee, June 19, 1942 he was the beloved son of the late John J. and Mary (Hackney) Maroney. Mr.Maroney was a graduate of Chicopee High School, and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a former altar boy, and parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, Chicopee. He was a Sales Director, for Uniroyal Tire, Chicopee, and was employed there for 25 years. He went on to own his own business "Maroney's Cottage", in Irving, a very popular Restaurant, bar and grille. He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Systeme and had just retired. Mr. Maroney was a member of the Eagles Club, the V.F.W., American Legion, Tigers A.C., and the Laurier Club all of Chicopee. He was a former president of the Oregon Sportmen's Club, also Chicopee and took pride in helping young people by drawing participation through fundraising, in the club?s fishing derby. His beloved wife to whom he was married to for 34 years died October 26, 1998. Two dear brothers Robert and John Maroney and two dear sisters Mary Jane Vincent and Geraldine Krysten also pre deceased Thomas. Mr. Maroney leaves to forever cherish his memory 2 devoted sons Thomas Maroney of Chicopee, and John Maroney, of Manhattan, N.Y., two devoted daughters Michelle Ouellette-Florence and her husband Tom of East Longmeadow, Renee Maroney of Wilbraham, a dear sisters Maureen "Moe" Radzuik and her husband John of Chicopee, two adored grandchildren Cam Sanderson of Wilbraham, and Rachel Ouellette of East Longmeadow, plus a very special friend Sarah Russell of Ludlow. Friends are asked to join the family on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, where a funeral procession will form and proceed to St. Patrick Church, 319 Broadway , Chicopee for a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The family respectfully welcomes floral tributes, or for those who wish memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner's Hospital, Donations Dept., 516 Carew St., Springfield, 01104 or to Disabled Veteran's.
