Tieneke Alstede

Tieneke “Tina” (Ellert) Alstede of Chicopee, age 94, passed away May 14, 2025. She was born in the former Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) on December 18, 1930. In 1952 Tina married her beloved husband, Edward F. Alstede and a short time later relocated to The Netherlands. Emigrating to the United States with their family in 1960, Tina remained married to Ed until his passing in 1989. She was an active member of Saint Anne Church in Fairview. Tina had a great love of sports and gardening, and she often impressed her neighbors with her plants and flowers. Her great grandson described her house as a "tropical zone." Tina is predeceased by her siblings Anton Ellert, Eddie Ellert, Annie Simons, and Marie Loosfeld, and her grandson Ryan Alstede. She is survived by her 3 children, Stella L. Alstede of Ludlow, Ronald E. Alstede and his partner Viera Harrison of Chicopee and Stanley P. Alstede and his wife Dana of West Springfield, She also leaves her grandchildren Trista Burke (Mathew), Kyle and their mother Linda Alstede, along with Madison, Tyler and Joshua, and her great-grandchildren Zoe and Gavyn, as well as several nieces and nephews who knew her as Tante Noes. Visitation will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Tylunas Funeral Home at 159 Broadway Street in Chicopee. Liturgy of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at Saint Anne Church at 30 College Street in Chicopee with Rites of Committal to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery at 63 Lyman Street in South Hadley.
