Timothy Michael Galas of Chicopee, age 69, passed away in his home after a long illness on July 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ludlow on November 26, 1955, to his late parents Boleslaus Gawel and Lottie C. (Czuchra) Galas. Tim graduated from Minnechaug High School. He met his best friend and the love of his life, Lynn (Glancey) in 1974 and married her in 1979. They started their family in 1981 and loved every minute of it. He spent many years teaching kids how to drive and will be remembered by many as a patient driving instructor. Tim enjoyed sports, he loved watching football with his kids or getting dressed to the nines with his family, hats and all, to watch the Kentucky Derby. Tim’s character was deeply intertwined with his faith. He was proud of his faith, incredibly giving, and always willing to help. He was loving and welcoming to everyone. He would take interest in others and was able to accept people without judgement. Tim cared for those around him, and he would pray for them. He prayed for everything and for everyone. Tim was deeply proud of his sons, Benjamin, Bryan, and Brett and his wife Pam. Tim had eleven grandchildren and adored them all with a “come as you are” spirit. Each grandchild is unique and he was proud of each of them for their strengths: Noah for being the Army National Guard Reserves, Lilyana for all the growth and change she has embraced, Jake for his skill with sports, Mia for the young lady she is becoming, Keira for how responsible and mature she is, Leila for her good grades and for pursuing cooking and homeschooling, Isaac through his surgeries and for his resilience and determination to heal, Michael for his mature career choices, Aubrielle, his blonde-haired blue-eyed “Dudette,” she may be naughty, but he never gets mad, Emberly for her free spirit, and baby Barrett “bear-bear” who has so much to look forward to. Tim is predeceased by his parents and his brother Richard Galas. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Tim is survived by his wife Lynn Maureen Galas, his brother Edward Galas, his niece Peggy and her husband Michael, his great-nephew Ricky and his great-niece Rachael. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Tylunas Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00PM, with a Funeral Home Service beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Tim’s memory to one of the charities that he held dear: Wounded Warrior Project, Shriners Children's Hospital, or First Central Bible Church.
