Vilma O. "Tolly" (Rivera) Ortiz 1966-2012 Chicopee- Vilma O "Tolly" (Rivera) Ortiz, 45, of 78 Summit Avenue died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of Wilma Davila of Springfield and the late Edmundo Rivera. Tolly was a 1984 graduate of Technical High School in Springfield and attended Springfield Technical Community College. She was employed as an individual coordinator at Multicultural Community Services in Holyoke for 12 years. Vilma enjoyed the outdoors and travelling. She collected Egyptian items and dreamed of going there someday. Beside her mother, she leaves her daughter Jessica L. Ortiz of Holyoke and son Justin M. Ortiz of Springfield, her stepfather Eusebio Alicea of Springfield, 3 brothers Carlos Diaz of Springfield, Michael Rivera of Trenton, NJ, and Oscar Alicea of South Hadley, 2 sisters Amarilys Rivera and Samary Rivera both of Trenton, NJ, a granddaughter Aubrey Shy Ortiz of Springfield, her companion of 5 years Mark Bacigalupo with whom she lived. Tolly also leaves many close friends and her dog Ramsey. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed. Vilma's family requests that those in attendance of her services wear brightly colored clothing.
