William J. "Bill" Ainville, Jr.

SPRINGFIELD- William "Bill" J. Drainville Sr., 71, a 46-year Springfield resident and formerly of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday September 24, 2006 in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. William was born in Holyoke on July 8, 1935 the son of the late Henry J. and Theresa J. (Senecal) Drainville. He was raised and educated in Holyoke, and retired from the Springfield Local 999, and had previously worked for the Holyoke Local 596. William is survived by his loving wife of 46-years, Lelia R. (Messier) Drainville; three sons, William J. Jr.,(Francine) of Chicopee, Kevin A. of Springfield and Paul H. (Daiyana) of Springfield; a daughter, Denise I. Williams (John Joe) of Westhampton; a brother, Arthur J. Drainville (Virginia) of Chicopee; five grandchildren, Erin, Kristen and Leighan Williams, and Kali Ann and Fabiana Drainville; two great-grandchildren, Teja Johnson and McKenna Williams; and several nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by a brother; Edward J. Drainville and a sister Beatrice J. Bobst. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 27th beginning at 10:30 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Rd., all in Chicopee. William's family will receive family and friends prior to the services on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9-10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in William's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or American Heart Association, 1111 Elm St., Suite 9A, West Springfield, MA 01089
