CHICOPEE-William V. Couture, 86, of Cyran Street passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Regal Care in Holyoke. Bill, as family and friends called him, was born in Holyoke, a son of the late William and Bertha (Winiarski) Couture. Bill was a longtime Newspaper salesman, working in advertising with the Holyoke Transcript & Telegram over 23 years. He then purchased the Town Reminder with his partner and owned it until his retirement in 2002. He married Barbara J. Couture (née Keeler) on May 18, 1957, and they enjoyed 66 years of love, family and memories. Bill loved keeping busy, whether riding his bike, playing cards or cribbage and just about any other game imaginable. His time at the beach was especially dear to him, just enjoying the company of his family was one of the simple pleasures in his life. He was a communicant of Saint Theresa of Lisieux Church in So. Hadley. Bill leaves his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbara J. Couture. His children; William L. Couture and his wife Suzanne of Wells, ME, Steven E. Couture and his wife Maureen and Lisa M. La Rocque and her partner Dan Malone all of So. Hadley. His siblings, Gerald Couture and Fran Tetreault and her husband Robert all of Port Charlotte, FLA., nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by a sister and her husband, Gloria & Bob Duval.
