Jeremy Dec, 37, passed away at home on May 7th. He leaves his mother, Sheila Noe of Chicopee, and the late Paul Dec of Palmer. He also leaves his sister Heather Dec of Belchertown, Christopher Dec of West Springfield and Daniel Dec of Chicopee. Also his two nieces, Sophia Young of Belchertown, Juliana Gauthier of Beckett and his nephew, Corey Young of Belchertown, who were his pride and joy.
Jeremy was born on March 6, 1983 in Springfield, MA and grew up in Palmer, MA. He attended Palmer High School and STCC. He worked for many years at Friendly's and most recently at Smith and Wesson. Jeremy was such a hard worker, at any job he had. Anyone who knew Jeremy, knew he had the biggest heart and kindest soul.
Jeremy was known as "J-Remy" by siblings, "Uncle Shoes" by his nieces and nephew" and "My Good Man" by his mother. Jeremy took such great pride in being an uncle, his nieces and nephew were everything to him. He had a love for his shoe collection. Music was everything to him. He was so great with words, he wrote poems and raps. Anytime you saw Jeremy staring at his phone, it was of course only the newest phone out, and he just had to have it. He was a car enthusiast, especially Hondas. He enjoyed bro time with Chris taking hikes. Also sister time, who will forever recite "They all want cake" and "The sky is the limit". He mostly related with his guy, his little brother Dan. Jeremy's family only asks you to keep his memories and big heart going through traditions, songs, food, and laughs.
To Those I Love And Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me. Let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy, we had so many years.
I gave you my love and you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while for me if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless those memories in your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
with all my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome You Home".
