CHICOPEE-Mary Jean Yvonne (Boucher) Fontaine, 81, of Chicopee passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Jean was born in Chicopee Falls on May 2, 1937, daughter of the late Frank and Yvonne (Mayotte) Boucher. As a lifelong resident of the city, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Chicopee High School. Jean stayed home to raise her daughters before going to work. She was the manager for many years at the Fair-Lanes Bowl O-Mat in Chicopee. She had also worked as a TTY Operator for Vista/Relay for a number of years. She was a member of the former St. George Catholic Church and a communicant of the Catholic Community. Jean loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, family gatherings and holiday dinners. She was a devoted New England Sports fan and enjoyed watching football. Jean loved going to the beach in the summer and occasional trips to Foxwoods to try her luck. She bravely completed the daily crossword, in Ink! She leaves her devoted daughters; Laura Fontaine and Susan Schreiber and her husband Robert of Chicopee, Jacqueline Scoville and her husband Tom of Torrington, CT. and Cathy Boylan of Chicopee. Her cherished grandchildren; Jason Schreiber and Cameron Boylan of Chicopee and Eric, Stephanie and Matthew Scoville all of Torrington, CT. She was predeceased by her siblings; Robert Lane, George, Rene and Armand Boucher. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and the extended members of the Fontaine and Boucher families. The family invites you to join them on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee for Visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. followed by a Service of Remembrance at 11:45 A.M. at the Funeral Home with Fr. William Tourigny, Celebrant. Interment of her ashes will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fuller Rd., Chicopee.
