HOLYOKE- Natalina (Zamperini) Skrzyniarz entered into Eternal Life at the blessed age of 102 on Saturday evening, May 26, 2018, surrounded by the caring staff at Mt. Saint Vincent Care Center after a brief stay of just six days. Natalina had resided at the Beaven Kelly Home since 2003 and the love and care of the staff, family and friends there helped her retain her independence till the age of 102. Natalina was born in Simsbury, Ct. on December 25, 1915, daughter of the late Zefferino & Angela (Castellani) Zamperini, who both emigrated from Italy. She grew up in the Simsbury area, and was educated in local schools. She moved to Chicopee in her 20’s, eventually meeting her husband, Walter J. Skrzyniarz. They were married and settled here on Lachine Street where they lived for many years until his passing in 1986. Natalina worked for 25 years as a Weaver with Union Narrow from 1942 to 1967 then for Arrow Elastic Corporation from 1967 to 1976 when she retired. Natalina moved to the Beaven Kelly Home in 2003, making many new friends, including her “adopted granddaughter” Carla Grace, of Chicopee, who provided her with much love and attention over the years. Natalina was a devoted Catholic and longtime communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Chicopee where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. Natalina leaves several nephews including Steven, Mark and Michael Zamperini, and her dear Godson and his wife, Peter and Linda Skrzyniarz of West Chesterfield, NH, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Natalina was predeceased by her only brother, Andrew Zamperini, formerly of West Springfield. The family invites you to join them for a calling hour on Friday June 1, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St. followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s RC Church, 319 Broadway St., Chicopee, Fr. Dariusz P. Wudarski, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Fuller Rd., Chicopee. Donation in Natalina’s memory may be made to the Beaven Kelly Home Residents’ Activity Fund, 25 Brightside Drive, Holyoke, MA. 01040.
