CHICOPEE-Ralph H. Squires Jr., 81, of Applewood Drive, Chicopee passed away on Saturday August 18, 2018 at BSMC in Springfield after a long illness. Ralph was born on December 12, 1936 in Turners Falls, MA. The son of the late Ralph H. & Ruth (Parker) Squires. He was raised and educated in Turners Falls, attending local schools and graduated from Turners Falls High School. Ralph enlisted in the US Air Force immediately after High School and received his basic training at Lackland AFB, TX. He served with distinction with the USAF over 30 years, retiring as a Major in 1986. He served at numerous posts throughout his career, including Thailand. He received numerous commendations including the Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Air Force Outstanding Unit award with Valor and the Air Force commendation Medal. He received his Master’s Degree in Business from Michigan State University.  Ralph was a Real Estate Broker throughout New England and Eastern Mass. for 31 years and had recently been affiliated with Sky Mountain Realty in Fairview. Ralph loved fishing and watching the Red Sox and the New England Patriots.  He married Dorothy “Dottie” Deslaurier in 2010 and they settled in Chicopee.  Ralph and Dorothy were members and worshipped at Faith United Methodist Church in Fairview. Ralph leaves his wife; Dorothy “Dottie” (Deslaurier) Hamel Squires of Chicopee. His children; Rebecca (Ken) Norman of Granby, Michael Squires (Lori) of Fort Hill, SC., Ralph “Randy” Squires III (Cynthia) of Granby, Erica Arent (Bryan) of Minneapolis. MN. and Amy Wiseman (John) of Los Angeles, CA. Ralph also leaves 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his siblings; Marguerite Christy and Robert Squires. Calling hours at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 10:45 to 12:45 P.M. with a Service at 12:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA. promptly at 2 p.m. Donations in Ralph’s memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Spfld, MA. 01104,  American Cancer Society, P.O.
